The Wall Street Journal reports that two new studies suggest that the prolonged use of cancer medication helped stunt the progress of the disease, a shift from the scheduled courses of treatment typically delivered to patients.
According to the Journal, both studies show “how cancer is often becoming a chronic disease.” Regarding the drug Rituxan, one study suggests that it cuts the risk of cancer returning in certain lymphoma patients by half when used as a maintenance treatment for two years.
