A psychologist at Carnegie Mellon University, suggests that stress made the symptoms of certain diseases much worse. He concluded that stress is a causative factor in depression, cardiovascular disease, and AIDS
This finding does not mean that the people who leading stressful lives will develop these diseases in the future, they only have to be predisposed to them. Nobody can live a totally stress free condition but it should be a goal to lead a life where stress plays a smaller role.
The article was published in the Journal of the American Medical Association (JAMA) and the findings from his research is published in the October 10, 2007 issue.
