Early Treatment With Oseltamivir (Tamiflu) Reduces Influenza Severity Duration in Children

A research study at Primary Physicians Research in Pittsburgh found that treatment with oseltamivir (Tamiflu) can markedly reduce illness duration, symptom severity, and secondary complications in children with influenza.

Presented earlier this month at the World Society for Pediatric Infectious Disease meeting in Bangkok, study concludes that this is the first time that a dramatic reduction in influenza severity duration, complications and antibiotic use have been shown when (oseltamivir is) initiated within 24 hours of illness.
