A new study from the University of Michigan Health System reports that obese children are much more likely than normal-weight children to have problems with breathing-related functions, especially airway obstruction and major oxygen desaturation, during surgery.
The study appears in the March issue of the journal Anesthesiologym and adds breathing-related problems to the growing list of health challenges faced by obese children.
