Researchers at the Washington University School of Medicine in St. Louis concluded in a study published in the journal Health Psychology, that obese children need actions that provide them with more active guidance and strategies to help them achieve behavioural changes that may help them get back to good shape.
The conclusion of study points that children needs more active interventions because mere sharing of information may in fact worsen kids’ weight status. The team leader opinion is that providing information is a necessary component, but it’s not sufficient, the effective solution being an active treatment involving any combination of diet, physical activity or behavioural treatment.
