A sudy at the Dana-Farber/Brigham found that by five years, 31.8 percent of the men who received hormones had died compared to 19.5 percent of the men who did not receive hormone therapy. In conclusion, researchers say adding hormone therapy to treat prostate cancer may reduce overall survival in men with pre-existing heart conditions. The findings are published online in advance of the print edition of the International Journal of Radiation Oncology-Biology-Physics.
