British doctors have warned that there has been a drastic increase in sexually transmitted diseases (STD) among older men using Viagra, because it fuels extramarital affairs giving men greater freedom to engage in sexual activity with more partners. They said that the older men particularly at risk were those frequently swapping sexual partners or using prostitutes.
According to British health information, rates of sexual infections such as gonorrhea more than tripled in men between 45 to 64 years of age and for fold increase among teenagers. The number of chlamydia cases has also experienced a significant increase of 315 per cent between 1997 and 2006. Though the sex drug may boost men’s performance but it is also putting them at an increased risk of contracting STDs.
