A new study at the Karolinska Institute in Stockholm suggests that increased consumption of magnesium-rich foods such as whole grains may reduce male smokers’ risk of cerebral infarction, which occurs when blood flow to the brain is blocked.
Researchers concluded that eating foods such as whole grains cuts risk of cerebral infarction. The findings were published in the March 10 issue of the Archives of Internal Medicine.
