Much like women going to menopause, many men fear aging and the associated prostate troubles that come along with it.
Some of the more common situations linked of prostate problems include erectile sexual dysfunction, difficulties and
a low libido.

Risk Factors and Causes of Prostate Cancer
Overall, there is still not enough knowledge on the risk factors and causes of prostate cancer. and the real causes of prostate cancer are unknown. However there are some likely risk factors that can increase chances of cells start to grow and spread. Below are indicated 6 common risk contributing factors of prostate cancer.
1 Age. Age is the most important risk factor -- the risk of prostate cancer increases with age. Scientists conduced that the aging process produces biochemical reactions that contribute to abnormal cell growth.
2 Ethnicity. Statistics show that the disease more likely to occur in men of black African origin than those of European or Asian origins. This is known from comparative data collected in the United States.
3 Lifestyle - diet, obesity and exercise. Prostate cancer occurs more incidentally in Europe and North America than in East Asia. Experts suggest the basis for this observation is the difference in lifestyle and living conditions that influence the risk of prostate cancer. A high calorie and fat diet may increase the chances of prostate cancer development.
I know what you're thinking; being "heavy" seems to be the doctor's answer to everything right? Well you may be right about this one. Most studies have NOT found a direct link to obesity and prostate cancer.
On the same note as obesity, there have not been any proven studies to show that exercising will reduce, or eliminate the risk of getting prostate cancer. However getting your weight under control (no matter what size that may be) will certainly help you feel better and just that alone might affect weather or not you develop prostate cancer. Some studies though have shown that lots of physical activity in older men may lower the risk of advanced prostate cancer.
4 Heredity. If a man's father or an older sibling has had prostate cancer, then he is at increased risk. According to current investigations, about 5-10% of all prostate cancer is hereditary. Thus, the prostate cancer risk for a man increases two to threefold if he has a father or brother with the disease. If both his father and brother develop prostate cancer, that same man's risk increases by five times.
Genetic factors and a hereditary predisposition are therefore clearly important. Researchers suggest that prostate cancer is linked with the gene HPC-1. A mutation of the HPC-1 gene plays a role particularly in prostate cancer patients who are relatively young and in families with three or more cases of prostate cancer. However, because the gene is still not fully understood, testing for prostate cancer risk is not yet possible.
5 Testosterone. The male sex hormone testosterone, created in the testes, does not cause prostate cancer but is known to feed its growth. Testosterone therefore can make an already existing case of the disease worse. This is why testosterone deprivation is an advantageous treatment.
6 Vasectomy. There are some questions if a vasectomy increases the risk of prostate cancer, but this has still not been confirmed.
